Sharing Shed Officially Opened

29 July 2010

The Sharing Shed at St Kentigerns School for Girls –Corran was officially opened on 28 June 2010
by Tracie Shipton, Director of the Dingwall Trust and Veera Ramayah, Head of Student Council.

The Sharing Shed was created  for the families and students of the school to have a chance to donate quality goods such as clothing, toys and larger items such as furniture and used appliances to Dingwall Trust. These donations will be used to support teenagers transitioning from care to independent living across the Auckland region and for the children and young people of Dingwall Trust.

Many wonderful donations have been received so far and we extend our thanks to the whole St Kentigerns school community for their support. This is another great example of “a community of care” at work.

Starting from this year all Year 4 classes will be invited to have a tour of the Dingwall Trust and to learn about the work that we do. This enables the students to have an understanding of why Dingwall is needed, what we do and to break down the barriers and stigma of foster care.
